What a gorgious day for crumpets! Unfortunately, since the crumpets game conflicted with the KU vs MU basketball game, we didn't get quite the turnout I'd hoped for. But the six of us who were there had a blast!

Game 1 - Game one saw "Something Having to do With Bricks" (Melissa, Rob, Robbie) defeat "Come Be Our Friend" (Katie, Michelle, John) by a score of 10-3.

Game 2 - Game two saw "Nothing" (Melissa, John, Robbie) defeat "Go Tigers!" (Michelle, Katie, Rob) by a score of 10-0. No offense intended to the Tigers, but this result seems almost appropriate given that the Jayhawks defeated the Tigers just minutes after Nothing defeated Go Tigers.

Game 3 - In game 3, "Scrubbing Bubbles" (Melissa, John, Michelle) fell to "Universal Cheerleading Association" (Katie, Rob, Robbie) by a score of 10-5.

Game 4 - There is no better way to end an afternoon of crumpets than with a game like this one. "Leap Day Losers" (Melissa, Michelle, Robbie) jumped out to an early 2-0 lead over "Where's Nemo?" (John, Rob, Katie). This didn't phase Nemo, however, as Rob pointed out that the first team to score in each game had ended up losing it.

The game went on to be truly epic, with the lead being exchanged 3 times (which is unusual for a game that only goes to 10 points). The score was tied 3-3 at the first wind shift. The Losers got the first point after the switch, but it took about 30 minutes to do it. After that things sped up a bit with Nemo scoring another 2 pointer, which was answered by the Losers 2 pointer, to leave the score at 6-5 in favor of the Losers at the second switch. With the wind at their back, the rest of the game belonged pretty much to Nemo, who took a 4 point run to lead 9-6 before the Losers could put up another point. But the losers stayed true to their name and ended up pulling out a loss with the final score of "Where's Nemo?" 10, "Leap Day Losers" 7.
